Actually... CRAP!
Of all the years to start farming, I pick the one with the most rain.
So far, getting hay dried to the point where it can be baled has been next to impossibe. I have a whopping 10 round bales for the winter. I should have nearly 150 by now.
Due to the weather, and a string of failures with "new" (to me) "field ready" equipment just delivered from the dealership all of this hay was lost.
I suppose that's how it goes, but I had hoped to at least cover costs this year. Not looking to get rich, wasn't even planning to turn a profit, just break even.
I might still be able to salvage the year, if it would stop bloody raining! Hay will likely command a decent price; since everybody seems to be in the same boat as me.
Don't pray for rain.
