If you've been following along (besides seriously needing a life) you'll know that the intent is to build a house where the farm is. The current way of doing things, quite frankly... sucks.
Now, building my own house is something I'd wanted to do for the last 10+ years. I've never been satisfied with any of the houses we've lived it for 1 reason or another, plus there's some primitive instinct that runs through me that just drives me to want to build.
Anyone who knows me also knows that I wouldn't be satisfied with building a normal, run of the mill house. That would be too boring and easy, and well that's just not me. Yes, looking at the floor plans below, doesn't show anything remarkable at all, and it's interesting the different feedback I've gotten from different people. I attribute that to the way people live and the experiences they've had from the houses they live in. I think to truly design a floor plan, you have to examine your lifestyle. Match that with where you will build (a good designer will say, you can never plan a house 100% until you have the property) and then you can design something that fits you're lifestyle.
What you see below is really a rough draft. I didn't go to far with the details until I did get some opinions. The next update will be more refined.
Also, watch for the next post in a day or 2, that will unveil the type of house we intend to build. Those who know me already have a pretty good idea, or know outright, those who don't... well I have no clue as to why you'd want to read this. Either way, stay tuned.
